Telegram scams: exchanger bots, fake support and “cheap energy”
In short
- Real wallet or exchange support never writes first and never asks for your seed phrase.
- A Telegram bot is just its owner’s program. You can send it money, but you cannot hold it to account.
- An address sent by a bot or a “manager” is checked like any other — before the transfer.
Exchanger bots and “guarantors”
A bot promises a USDT swap at a good rate, “instant” TRX purchase or “guarantor” services. The script is almost always the same: you send to the bot’s address and nothing comes back, or less does. Sometimes the bot is honest on small amounts and “hangs” on a large one.
Before sending, check the bot’s address in GuardPay /check: a fresh address that takes money from many people and forwards it at once, or links to known schemes, is a reason to stop. Start with an amount you can afford to lose.
Fake support
You post about a problem in a public wallet or exchange chat, and a minute later “support” writes to you privately. Signs of fraud:
- they wrote first, unprompted, in private messages;
- the name and avatar match the official account, but the username differs;
- they ask for your seed phrase, private key, a “wallet sync” on a website or to install an app;
- they ask you to move funds “to a safe address” or “for verification”.
Real support answers through the official website or app. Nobody ever needs your seed phrase.
“Cheap energy” and TRX activation
Energy sellers promise to cut the fee for sending USDT. Honest energy rental exists, but there is a lot of fraud around it:
- you pay up front and no energy arrives;
- you are asked to “connect your wallet” and sign something other than a plain TRX transfer — it may be an approval for your tokens or a change of permissions;
- “energy support” asks for your key to “set up delegation”.
How energy and fees really work is in TRON energy and fees.
How to protect yourself
- Do not continue a conversation with “support” that wrote first.
- Never enter your seed phrase anywhere but your own wallet during recovery.
- Do not sign an approve or change permissions at a chat’s request, see the multisig trap.
- Check every address before a transfer and every transfer by hash afterwards.
- If money is already gone — what to do in the first hours.

How do I tell real support from fake on Telegram?
Real support does not write first and does not ask for your seed phrase, keys or transfers. Contact it only through the link on the official website of the wallet or exchange.
Is renting TRON energy safe?
Renting itself is a normal service, but pay small amounts to proven services and sign nothing except a TRX transfer. Delegation never needs your key or seed phrase.
