Buyer Guide
In GuardPay the buyer always creates the deal. The buyer freezes the funds and confirms delivery. Without the buyer's confirmation the seller will not receive the money.
Preparation
We recommend TronLink. iOS: App Store, Android: Google Play.
Do not use exchange wallets (Binance, Bybit) — they do not support smart contracts.
You need USDT TRC-20 (deal amount + fee) and some TRX for gas (~20-50 TRX).
A TRON address starts with T, 34 characters long. If you don't know it — choose the "they will enter it" scenario.
Creating a deal
Via @Guard_Pay_Bot in Telegram or at guardpay.online
Enter your TRON wallet address or tap "Where is your wallet?" for instructions.
ESCROW — the buyer transfers the full amount to the smart contract. Funds are frozen until both parties confirm.
DEPOSIT — parties deposit a guarantee, not the full amount. Four subtypes:
- My deposit only — the buyer deposits a guarantee. The seller pays nothing.
- Seller only — the seller deposits a guarantee, the buyer pays nothing.
- Both equal — both parties deposit the same amount.
- Both different — each party deposits their own amount.
The deposit is automatically returned to both parties upon successful completion.
Seller's address, amount in USDT, deal duration in hours. Check the fee calculation.
Open the signing link in the TronLink browser. The process is split into two separate steps:
- Step 1/2 — Approve: allow the contract to debit USDT. Confirm in TronLink — the approve transaction is recorded on the blockchain.
- Step 2/2 — Create deal: after approve confirmation a "Create deal on blockchain" button appears. Press it — TronLink confirms createDeal().
TRON transactions expire after ~60 seconds. If approve and createDeal run sequentially in one step — the second transaction often gets a "Transaction expired" error. Separate steps completely eliminate this issue.
After a successful createDeal() the page will automatically notify the bot and return you to Telegram.
A link like t.me/Guard_Pay_Bot?start=deal_XXX. Send it to the seller and wait for them to join.
Confirming delivery
After pressing "Confirm" the funds are immediately and irreversibly transferred to the seller. Press only when you are fully satisfied with the deal result. An accidental press is irreversible.
What happens technically during confirmation
GuardPay opens the signing page in your wallet browser.
Before signing you see: GuardPay contract, seller's address (in full), amount. Verify the seller's address — it must match the person you agreed with.
The smart contract transfers USDT to the seller and the GuardPay fee. In v1.1 wUSDT is collected back by the contract from both wallets.
When a deal is created you will receive wUSDT in your wallet — a receipt token equal to the deal amount. It is visible in TronLink as proof of frozen funds. It cannot be transferred or sold. After the deal completes the contract automatically collects wUSDT from both parties and pays real USDT to the seller.
Fraud protection
- The seller asks to pay outside GuardPay "to speed things up"
- Asks you to press confirm before delivering the goods
- Price is suspiciously below market
- Pressures you, rushes you, not willing to wait
- Refuses to work through escrow
Fee table
| Deal amount | Fee | TRON gas | Total to send |
|---|---|---|---|
| $30 | $2.00 | ~$0.01 | $32.01 |
| $100 | $2.00 | ~$0.01 | $102.01 |
| $200 | $4.00 | ~$0.01 | $204.01 |
| $1 000 | $10.00 | ~$0.01 | $1 010.01 |
| $5 000 | $50.00 | ~$0.01 | $5 050.01 |
| $10 000 | $50.00 | ~$0.01 | $10 050.01 |
Seller Guide
The seller does not create the deal — they join via a link from the buyer. Funds go to the seller only after the buyer's confirmation.
Joining a deal
The buyer will send a link like t.me/Guard_Pay_Bot?start=deal_XXX. Tap it — the bot will open and show the deal details.
Make sure the amount, type and duration match your agreement. After joining, terms cannot be changed.
Two scenarios are possible:
- The buyer specified your address — the field will be pre-filled. You will see a yellow block "🟡 The buyer specified this address". Press "Confirm" — the field turns green ✅. If the address is wrong — enter yours: the buyer will receive a Telegram notification with both addresses.
- The buyer did not specify an address — enter your TRON address (starts with T, 34 characters). When entered correctly the field turns green ✅.
If you enter an address different from what the buyer specified, a warning "Address differs. The buyer will receive a Telegram notification" is shown. The buyer gets a message with both addresses and can confirm or cancel the deal.
Press "Join the deal". This is an off-chain step — you confirm agreement with the terms in GuardPay without a blockchain transaction. The buyer will be notified and can proceed to payment.
If the buyer created a DEPOSIT deal — they chose the deposit type at creation: their deposit only, both equal, or each their own. What you need to do is shown directly on the deal card. No forced requirements — everything is defined by the deal terms you see before joining.
sellerJoin() in the smart contract requires the deal to already exist (Pending status). This is only possible after the buyer called createDeal() and deposited funds.
After joining the buyer receives a notification and proceeds to payment (approve + createDeal). Once funds are locked in the contract — the deal status becomes "active" and you get a Telegram notification.
After the buyer pays, a "🤝 Confirm participation on blockchain" button appears in your deal card. Tap it — the signing page opens in TronLink browser. Confirm the sellerJoin() transaction — the smart contract now knows you are participating.
Without this step you cannot call sellerConfirmDelivery() and auto-release will not work in your favor. Be sure to complete this step.
Seller confirmation (v1.1)
In GuardPay v1.1 with the wUSDT mechanism both deal participants must press confirmation. This prevents situations where one party disappears after the physical deal.
Deliver the goods, provide the service, or fulfill what was agreed upon.
In GuardPay press the confirmation button on your side. The buyer will be notified.
After the buyer presses their confirmation — the contract will automatically collect wUSDT receipts from both parties and pay you real USDT.
- Contact the buyer — perhaps there are quality concerns
- Offer proof of delivery (photos, tracking, messages)
- If you pressed "I fulfilled the terms" — after 7 days auto-release will transfer funds automatically (if the buyer did not open a dispute)
- If the buyer opened a dispute — a collegium of 5 AI agents will question both parties and deliver a verdict automatically
Situations and solutions
The buyer does not confirm
- Contact the buyer, remind them
- Check if there are quality complaints
- Press "I fulfilled the terms" — after 7 days of silence funds go to you automatically
- Document proof of fulfillment (photos, messages) — in case of a dispute
The buyer wants to cancel
You have the right to agree or refuse. No one can force you to cancel. If you agree — call cancelBySeller() via the signing page. If not — don't press anything; the buyer can open a dispute.
Quality complaints
- Try to negotiate directly
- Offer partial refund or revision
- If negotiation fails — either party opens a dispute
- The AI arbitrator will question both parties (5 questions independently) and deliver a verdict with confidence %
- The verdict is executed automatically on-chain after 3 rounds of appeals (12+6+3 hours)
The smart contract executes this automatically — GuardPay team involvement is not required.
When a dispute is opened, a cascading panel of 5 AI agents from different models joins (Main → Strict/Empathetic/Technical → Senior Chairman). Each agent independently analyzes both parties' answers and on-chain signals. The panel delivers a verdict — funds to the buyer or seller. Parties have 3 rounds of appeals (12+6+3 hours) to submit additional evidence.
In the extreme case (both parties silent for 180 days) — funds go to a charity fund.
Deposit Deals
What is a deposit deal
In a deposit deal parties put up a guarantee, not the full amount. The deposit ensures both parties are serious. Upon successful completion the deposit is automatically returned to both parties.
Deposit is suitable for situations where freezing the full amount is excessive: rentals, bookings, long-term projects.
4 deposit types
The buyer deposits a guarantee, the seller pays nothing. Use when you trust the seller but want to show you're serious.
The seller deposits a guarantee, the buyer pays nothing. Use when you need a guarantee from the seller — e.g., that they will deliver on time.
Both parties deposit the same amount. Maximum mutual guarantee — both parties are equally motivated to complete the deal successfully.
Each party deposits their own amount. A flexible option for non-standard agreements.
When to use deposit vs escrow
| Situation | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Online product purchase | Escrow (full amount) |
| Freelance project | Escrow or deposit |
| Rental with deposit | Deposit (both equal) |
| Service booking | Deposit (my only) |
How the deposit is returned
The deposit is automatically returned to both parties. No additional actions required.
The deposit is returned minus 50% of the service fee. The rest is returned in full.
A collegium of 5 AI agents automatically analyzes the answers from both parties and decides who gets the deposit back.
How Escrow Works
Escrow principle
Funds are frozen in a smart contract and go to the seller only after the buyer confirms. Neither party can take the money unilaterally.
Full deal cycle
Specifies the amount in USDT, seller's address (or chooses "they will enter it") and the deadline.
Two steps: approve (allowing the contract) and createDeal (freezing USDT). After this the funds are in the smart contract.
The buyer sends a link to the seller. The seller checks the terms and joins the deal.
Delivers the goods, provides the service, or fulfills what was agreed upon.
Presses the button in the GuardPay app. The buyer receives a Telegram notification.
After verifying everything is fine, the buyer signs confirmation in their wallet.
USDT is instantly transferred to the seller's wallet. The deal is complete.
What is wUSDT
When funds are frozen in the contract, you will see a wUSDT token in your wallet equal to the deal amount. This is a receipt — proof that funds are in the smart contract. wUSDT cannot be sold or transferred. After the deal completes the receipt disappears automatically.
Auto-release
If the seller pressed "I fulfilled the terms" and the buyer is silent for 7 days without opening a dispute — funds automatically go to the seller. This protects the seller from situations where the buyer received the goods and disappeared.
What happens on cancellation
| Who cancels | When | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Buyer | Before payment | Deal cancelled, funds were not moved |
| Seller | After payment | Funds immediately return to the buyer |
| Buyer | After payment | Cancellation request — seller must agree |
| Nobody | 180 days of silence | Funds go to a charity fund |
Cancellation fee
When an active deal is cancelled 50% of the service fee is retained. The rest + full deal amount is returned to the buyer.
