Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the most common questions about GuardPay

General Questions

Q1. What is GuardPay and how is it different from a regular transfer?
▾

GuardPay is a P2P escrow service on the TRON blockchain. With a regular transfer you send money immediately and depend entirely on the recipient's honesty. With GuardPay funds are frozen in a smart contract and only released to the counterparty after you personally confirm the conditions are fulfilled. This protects both sides: the seller knows the money exists, the buyer knows they won't lose it.

Q2. Who runs GuardPay? Can it be trusted?
▾

GuardPay is an interface (a convenient navigator) on top of a smart contract on the TRON blockchain. The contract itself is autonomous: neither the development team nor anyone else can access your funds outside the encoded conditions. Trust is based on the open contract code, not on company reputation.

Q3. Is identity verification (KYC) required?
▾

No. GuardPay does not and will never require KYC, a passport, or registration. All you need is a TRON wallet (TronLink, Trust Wallet) and USDT.

Q4. Is this legal?
▾

Using P2P escrow services is legal in most countries for lawful transactions. GuardPay does not provide financial services in a regulated sense — it is a tool for conditional transactions on a public blockchain. Users are responsible for complying with the laws of their country of residence.

Q5. What kinds of deals is GuardPay suitable for?
▾

Any P2P transactions where the parties don't know or fully trust each other: buying and selling goods, freelance, consulting, development, rental, services. If both parties are in different countries — GuardPay is especially useful since it is jurisdiction-independent.

Q6. Do I need to install an app?
▾

GuardPay works as a Telegram Mini App — no installation required. Open @Guard_Pay_Bot in Telegram. The only thing you'll need is a TronLink or Trust Wallet with TRC-20 USDT.

Q7. Who is the initiator and who is the counterparty?
▾

The initiator is the one who creates the deal and freezes the funds (usually the buyer or client). The counterparty joins via the link and must fulfill the conditions (usually the seller or contractor). Roles are set at creation and cannot be changed.

Q8. How do I get started with GuardPay?
▾

Open @Guard_Pay_Bot in Telegram → connect your TRON wallet → tap 'New deal'. Enter the counterparty's address, set the amount and deadline. Send the link to the counterparty — they will join and you'll receive a notification. Proceed to payment in the TronLink browser — funds will be frozen in the contract.

Money & Fees

Q1. Where are my funds physically located during a deal?
▾

In a smart contract on the TRON blockchain at address TJ3gxz1Dm8menmVHVTDDr1497ajcEQHdEL. This is not a GuardPay server — it is autonomous code on thousands of computers. Nobody, including the GuardPay team, can access it without fulfilling the contract conditions.

Q2. What if GuardPay shuts down or the servers get hacked?
▾

It will not affect your funds. The money exists on the blockchain independently of the guardpay.online site. Even if GuardPay ceases to exist — the smart contract will continue to operate. You can interact with it directly via TronScan or any TRON wallet.

Q3. Can I get my money back if a counterparty hasn't appeared yet?
▾

Yes. As long as the counterparty has not joined (status 'pending') — you can cancel the deal at any time. Funds return without any penalty.

Q4. Can I get my money back after the counterparty joined?
▾

Yes, but only with the counterparty's consent. The initiator sends a cancellation request, the counterparty agrees. On mutual cancellation, funds return to the initiator; 50% of the paid service fee is refunded, the other 50% covers TRON network gas and operating costs.

Q5. What is wUSDT — the token that appears in the wallet?
▾

wUSDT is a receipt. When your funds are locked in a deal, you see a wUSDT token in TronLink in the same amount. 1 wUSDT = $1. The receipt cannot be sold or transferred — it exists only inside the system. When the deal completes or is cancelled, the receipt disappears automatically and the real USDT goes to the appropriate party.

Q6. Does GuardPay charge a fee?
▾

Yes, progressive: up to $50 — flat $2; $50–$500 — 2%; $500–$5000 — 1%; over $5000 — 0.5%. On cancellation of an active deal, 50% of the paid fee is refunded to the initiator; the other 50% covers TRON network gas.

Q7. When exactly do funds transfer to the counterparty?
▾

Only after you (the initiator) press 'Confirm receipt' and sign the transaction in your wallet. Without your signature the money will not move. The only exception: auto-release 7 days after the counterparty has confirmed completion — this protects the counterparty in case you become unresponsive.

Security

Q1. Do you ask for card details or SMS codes?
▾

No, and we cannot: GuardPay does not work with cards at all. Settlement is in USDT/USDC on the TRON blockchain, so there is not a single field for a card number, CVV or SMS code anywhere on the site — you can see that on any page. We do not ask for your seed phrase or private key either: they stay with you, and you sign the transaction in your own wallet. If a site that looks like ours asks for a card, it is a fake. Our only domain is guardpay.online, and we never message first in messengers.

Q2. Can the GuardPay administration take my money?
▾

No. Funds are locked in a smart contract on the TRON blockchain. The contract only executes programmed functions: refund on cancellation, transfer on confirmation, send to charity after 180 days of silence.

Q3. How to protect yourself from a scammer?
▾

Main rules: don't create a deal if you're unsure; don't press 'Confirm receipt' until you have verified you got what was agreed; check the counterparty's full wallet address; be suspicious of anyone who rushes you, pressures you or asks you to do anything outside GuardPay.

Q4. What if the counterparty disappears after I paid?
▾

The funds are frozen and the counterparty cannot get them without your confirmation. You can open a dispute — a panel of 5 AI agents will survey both sides and issue a verdict. If the counterparty does not respond within 24 hours — the AI agents decide based on available facts and on-chain signals, usually in your favor.

Q5. I clicked 'Confirm receipt' by mistake. What can I do?
▾

Unfortunately, nothing — a blockchain transaction is irreversible. That's exactly why this button requires opening a separate page and confirming in your wallet — accidental clicks are practically impossible.

Q6. Can hackers break the smart contract?
▾

The contract code is open — anyone can verify the logic. The risk of a smart-contract hack is significantly lower than hacking a centralized service. Even if a hacker gets access to your wallet — they cannot take funds locked in the contract.

Q7. GuardPay requested wallet access — is it safe?
▾

Yes. This is a standard dApp connection. GuardPay only obtains your public address. The private key and seed phrase are never shared. No funds are debited at connection — only on explicit transaction confirmation.

Q8. Is GuardPay a middleman?
▾

GuardPay is an interface on top of a smart contract. The actual custodian of funds is the smart contract on the blockchain — public code with no intermediary owner. We don't hold the money, can't see it, can't freeze or transfer it without your signature.

Deal Process

Q1. Who should create the deal — the initiator or the counterparty?
▾

Always the initiator — the one who creates and funds the deal. The initiator freezes the money and has the right to confirm receipt. The counterparty only joins via the link and fulfills the conditions.

Q2. How to properly complete a deal?
▾

Counterparty fulfills conditions → presses 'I fulfilled the conditions' → initiator confirms receipt → presses 'Confirm receipt' → funds instantly transfer to the counterparty. If the initiator stays silent for 7 days after the counterparty's confirmation — the funds go to the counterparty automatically.

Q3. How to cancel a deal?
▾

If the counterparty hasn't joined yet — cancel at any time without losses. If the deal is active — the initiator sends a cancel request, the counterparty must agree. On mutual agreement funds return to the initiator; 50% of the fee is refunded.

Q4. What if the deal deadline expires but funds are still in the contract?
▾

The deadline is not a hard finish. If the counterparty confirmed completion and the initiator stays silent — auto-release will move funds to the counterparty after 7 days. After 180 days of complete silence, funds go to charity.

Q5. What is a dispute and when should I open one?
▾

A dispute is opened when the parties cannot reach an agreement. A panel of 5 AI agents from different models (Main → Strict/Empathetic/Technical → Senior Chairman) independently surveys both sides (5 questions each) and issues a verdict. After the verdict there are 3 rounds of appeal (12+6+3 hours), then on-chain execution. At any stage parties can settle privately — instantly.

Q6. Can I have multiple deals open at the same time?
▾

Yes. GuardPay does not limit the number of active deals. Each deal is an independent record in the smart contract with a unique ID.

Technical Questions

Q1. What is TRON and why this chain?
▾

TRON is a public blockchain with high speed (2000 TPS) and minimal fees (under $0.01 per transaction). USDT TRC-20 is one of the most popular stablecoins on TRON. Low fees make GuardPay accessible even for small deals.

Q2. Do I need to pay for gas (TRX)?
▾

Yes, a small amount of TRX (~$0.01–0.05 per transaction). Your wallet must hold a bit of TRX in addition to USDT. Usually 10–50 TRX is enough for several transactions.

Q3. Can I use GuardPay from a computer?
▾

Yes. Install the TronLink extension for Chrome or Firefox. Create a deal via @Guard_Pay_Bot in Telegram and open the signing link in a browser with the TronLink Extension.

Q4. I lost access to my wallet — will I lose my money?
▾

If you have your seed phrase (12–24 words) — restore the wallet using it. Without a seed phrase recovery is extremely difficult. Store the seed phrase in a physically secure place.

Q5. What is wUSDT and why does it appear in my wallet?
▾

wUSDT is a receipt confirming your funds are locked in a deal. 1 wUSDT = $1. The receipt cannot be sold or transferred. When a deal completes, the contract automatically takes the receipts back and pays out real USDT to the appropriate side.

Q6. Why is payment split into two steps — Approve and Create deal?
▾

Transactions on TRON have a limited lifetime (~60 seconds). Splitting into two explicit steps fully eliminates the 'Transaction expired' error: first you sign the approval, then you explicitly create the deal.

Q7. I paid but the deal status hasn't changed. What to do?
▾

Wait 1–2 minutes — the system automatically syncs with the blockchain. If the status hasn't changed after 5 minutes — write to @Guard_Pay_Bot with the txid of the transaction from your wallet.

Q8. What is a smart contract in plain words?
▾

A smart contract is a program on the blockchain that runs automatically when conditions are met. Like a vending machine: you drop in a coin (freeze USDT), press a button (confirmDelivery) — the machine releases the drink (transfers money). The machine cannot refuse. GuardPay is the screen and buttons on this machine.
