How much a USDT transfer costs now A number from the TRON network, not a guess

A USDT (TRC-20) transfer is paid with energy and bandwidth, and if you have none, TRX is burned instead. We ask the network what that costs right now and how much TRX to keep in the wallet so the transfer goes through.

One USDT (TRC-20) transfer

To a recipient who already holds USDT

The usual case: an exchange, a shop, a friend with USDT.

—TRX

To a new address

The recipient's address has never held USDT, so it takes twice the energy.

—TRX

If the daily free bandwidth (600 bytes) is not used up, it costs — TRX less. With your own energy for the whole transfer you pay no TRX at all.

Asking the network…

How much TRX to keep in the wallet

To make sure the transfer goes through, keep at least — TRX — enough even for a new address. For a recipient who already holds USDT, — TRX is enough.

A failed transfer still charges TRX for the energy it used. Top up with a margin, not to the exact amount.

Free once a day by staking TRX

Staking — TRX in your own wallet gives energy for one transfer a day to a recipient with USDT; for a new address, — TRX. Energy refills over 24 hours, and unstaked TRX comes back after 14 days.

Right now 1 staked TRX gives — energy a day: the share depends on how much TRX is staked across the whole network.

Energy and bandwidth prices are TRON network parameters. Energy use is a test call of the USDT contract with no signature and no money. The TRX price and the network day come from the public TRONSCAN explorer. This is a reference, not a promise: a network vote can change the price.

Common questions

How much does a USDT TRC-20 transfer cost?

As much as the energy and bytes it uses at the network's current price. The live numbers are at the top of this page: two prices, for a recipient who already holds USDT and for a new address. Your own energy or staked TRX brings the cost down to zero.

Why does a transfer to a new address cost more?

The USDT contract creates a balance record for a new holder, and writing a new value costs more energy than changing an existing one. So a transfer to an address that never held USDT uses about twice the energy.

Why does TRX disappear while USDT won't send?

A transfer burns TRX for energy even when it ends in an error. If TRX vanishes right after a top-up, someone else's program may be taking it — a sign that someone else also holds the wallet's keys. Check the address on the diagnosis page.

What are energy and bandwidth?

They are TRON network resources. Energy pays for smart-contract work, such as a USDT transfer. Bandwidth pays for the size of a transaction; every address gets a little of it free each day. When resources run short, the rest is covered by burning TRX.

Can I send USDT without TRX?

Yes, if the wallet has its own energy: from staking your TRX or delegated to you. Sites that promise a “free withdrawal” if you send them money are lying: the network never takes fees through other people's addresses.

Nobody charges a fee to “unlock” a withdrawal

The network takes the fee by itself, from your own wallet. If a site, “support” or a buyer asks you to send TRX or USDT to their address “for withdrawal”, “tax” or “activation”, it is a scam.
